I have studied Proverbs for many years trying to completely understand wisdom.  There have always been verses and questions that I do not have the answer for and have never understood.

*It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God – that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

-1 Corinthians 1:30 (NIV Study Bible)

 

*My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

-Colossians 2:2-3 (NIV Study Bible)

If Jesus is Wisdom (as the verses above state, and as I believe), then Proverbs is talking about Jesus not just wisdom as a separate entity.  I have never thought about it that way before, but it makes perfect sense to me.  If I substitute Jesus for wisdom/salvation in the verses in Proverbs, everything falls into place and makes sense in a way that it never did before.  I have read that Jesus is wisdom, but I have never heard anyone say it this way,  and I have never read it presented this way, but it gives clarity to Proverbs that I never had before.
