Our lives are like a train, and here on earth, we only see one car go by at a time.
Over the years we add new cars one by one. We fill the cars with passengers, treasures, debris, dreams, memories, etc. We are constantly adding new cars to our train, and we haul all of them with us. On our life’s journey, our train goes through sunshine, storms, valleys, mountains. We wonder why we go through valleys and storms, and sometimes they just seem endless. Some of our cars are heavy with debris that we need to unload, sometimes we need to change tracks, but we are on the ground watching one car after another go by so we cannot see the whole picture and oftentimes do not understand what we do see.
Our Heavenly Father has a different view. He can see the entire train, the landscape, the mountains, valleys, mud slides, rockslides, washed out bridges, disasters, and the entire picture of what lies ahead. We need to let Jesus drive our train and guide us through life’s trials and tribulations, storms, valleys, floods, mud slides, rockslides, washed out bridges and disasters. With Jesus driving our train, we can relax and be filled with peace and joy without the turmoil of doing it on our own. He is our Shepherd and promises to lead us to our final destination.
He changes our direction to protect us and allows events to happen to us, because He can see the entire picture that we cannot see.
It is wonderful to have an all-seeing Lord watching over us guiding our path, watching our train weave its way through life and driving our train to our final destination!
